Kamilah Bunn
Kamilah Bunn, Chief Executive Officer, National Adoption Association. Holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration along with certifications in public management and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, has significantly impacted the National Adoption Association (NAA) as its CEO. Over her 9-year tenure, she has driven a 450% increase in membership by applying her leadership and DEI expertise, enhancing benefits for its 500+ child welfare professional members.
Kamilah has committed over two decades to improving permanency outcomes for children, particularly those of color, in foster care. She leads NAA's transformative initiatives to eliminate systemic barriers to family connections, focusing on overrepresented groups such as Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, and LGBTQIA+ youth. Under her guidance, NAA launched the Ujima Black Family Program with Walmart Foundation support, a national effort to prevent Black youth in foster care from entering the juvenile and criminal justice systems by incorporating African-centered practices.
